12 Facts about Red Heads…

I love my red hair. My Dad & Mom both have very strong lines of red heads throughout the generations. Both of my brothers are also red heads. But none my brothers or my children have red hair. There are 9 children in total and not one red head in the bunch. Genetics are crazy and amazing… right!!!  As a red head I can personally tell you that when you see another red head you feel a connection. I always notice red heads and always compliment them if they are children. Because being a red headed child is hard. Kids are mean and will find anything that makes you different & pick on you. But now as an adult I like that I’m different. My pale skin and freckles stand out and people notice. It is crazy how many people stop me and compliment my hair color. Those compliments make my day every time ❤

  • It’s estimated around 1-2% world’s population has natural red hair. That’s a small number, but it represents a very proud population.  WoW, we are rare 😀
  • The one specific gene responsible for natural red hair the melanocortin 1 receptor, also known as MC1R. MC1R is a recessive gene and must be passed on from both mother and father. Explains why my kids don’t have red hair

Don’t Quit!

I have always had an intense fear of failing. I always worry I’ll disappoint people. I try my best and give my all every single day. I contemplate weather my writing can intrigue people enough to have them return here frequently and read more posts . As I was browsing Pinterest today I found this poem and it spoke to me…

Is Technology Ruining Our Society??

Technology is a vast, powerful and ever evolving part of our everyday life. They are always developing something bigger and better than the last latest greatest gadget. It is only superior for a moment before it is old news. Most people can’t keep up not only because of the outrageously high cost of these fancy new gadgets but because there will always be something newer, bigger & better tomorrow. It blows my mind that people will make monthly payments on a cell phone that cost over $700. Or pay hundreds of dollars on consoles and then up to $60 or more per game. Then proceed to buy  5- 10 games or more per said console. Only to have to have the console proprietors popping out new, supposedly more desirable consoles and newer superior games every year. It is a multi billion dollar business. We all literally pay into this everyday and fall for all the gimmicks they play on us and our children.

I talk pretty openly about my depression.

I have suffered from depression for as long as I can remember. Depression in one of those things that everyone suffers from differently. My depression unfortunately also comes with a side of anxiety. For me it feels like a rollercoaster ride. Some days are Ok & some days I want to dig a hole to disappear in.

What are your Expectations?

We all have expectations. We have expectations of ourselves, our family, our co-workers and our friends. It is rarely spoken of because in general we just expect people to do or behave in a certain way for us & or others. It’s great when people meet your expectations. You feel like you can trust or rely on these people. I feel like it also creates a connection & bond when you know someone will be there for you.

I have wrote this first sentence at least 10 different times today. Each time the sentence has had an assortment of different words.

I finally have decided to just be honest.

I am struggling today. My anxiety is high and my heart is racing. I am at a loss for words. I wish I could express in words what I feel. I don’t think there are words to describe the endless thoughts, insecurities and worry. That is anxiety.

I am sure there are people out there that have the unfortunate sense to truly understand the days where you can’t move, eat or think. Without feeling like you are falling off a cliff. I would like to say that it will be all better tomorrow. That would be amazing. But that isn’t how mental illness works.

What Lies Beneath…

The smile on my face that is what most people see.

I hide beneath the practiced personality of happy and bubbly.

I do not show you what lies beneath.

The Deep Dark shadows of what makes me weak.

In an instant my heart is racing with worry and I have this gut wrenching fear.

No matter how hard you fight it you can NOT turn it off. Just to be clear.

You try your hardest to hide all those insecurities from the people you know.

I just put on a brave face and smile just so.

All for the Sake that Nobody knows.
